GEARBOX UNIT

The transfer/reduction gearbox, designed and manufactured by us at Teknocar, is the brain of the four wheel drive system.

It is constructed of ribbed aluminium to increase the heat loss capacity and to reduce the weight.

It houses the third differential, which can also be locked, and the synchronised reduction gear assembly which permits the use of the reduction gears even when moving; a very important feature when travelling along difficult routes.

The whole unit is integral with the robust IVECO 2826 gearbox and has 10 forward speed and 2 reverse speed ratios in order to best utilise the engine.

The wide range of speeds available means that the vehicle can be used with equipment which requires low speeds and, on the other hand, which can produce higher speeds for long journeys.

Two simple controls in the cabin provide numerous combination possibilities:

	to engage and maintain four wheel drive at any speed on any ground without causing imbalance between the two axles;
	on the road with the third differential not engaged, off-road locked;
	Not depending on the drive (4x2 rear, 4x4 not engaged, 4x4 locked) the low ratio gears can be used.
